After reading this about Trump, it all starts to add up. More than 40 years ago, the first mentioning of Trump on an article was about how he was getting sued because Trump Management was being unfair to those of color and was being sued for anti-black bias. This does not shock me as his entire introduction onto American politics has stirred up a different aura in the atmosphere that still lingers in the air. This new sense of discomfort is from a mixture of the recent black killings, racism on campus universities, and the arrival of Trumps presence. It feels as if slavery was just recently abolished and to be frank, it's horrible. How could the government not do their due diligence better with checking out his credentials or at least eliminating him because of his foul comments during the elections?

A Mexican-American studies program deliberately got shut down at by the Tucson Unified School District so a federal judge banned this in Arizona as it inhibited the students' constitutional rights. This is what we need more of, those who are in power who aren't afraid to stick up for what's right, even if that means among the issue of diversity. As a student, if I wasn't able to study African Studies offered here on campus because they closed it down deliberately then I would be upset too. It' s good to know that Federal Judges care about such little, yet meaningful cases such as this one.

There should be no surprise to not one American citizen that the amount of racism has increase since Trump entered office. The leader of the KKK was even in support of him and when asked to Trump if he was aware of this, Trump said he doesn't know who they are referring to. Later the media was able to find that Trump actually met the leader of the KKK a couple of years back which was a horrible way of starting off your presidency, by lying to the American citizens within a very few months of inauguration.

I am not surprised to hear that oftentimes modeling agencies will have a preference of white females over black females. In the article, when the lady said they noted how they were surprised she was that beautiful even though she is black. That's a very disrespectful thing to say and then when the model responded to it she ended up not getting the role because she was standing up for what's right by attempting to make them politically correct.

Reading this article was very interesting to me as Apple usually doesn't showcase females on stage to represent their company, my guess being that Steve Jobs was the first to showcase all their products so the masculine culture of Apple was established since day one. But recently, Apple is trying to better on their diversity and inclusion front to include a more diverse range of people representing their products, even if there was only one female on the stage.

Racism in universities is something that has existed for a long time. I often say that racism in the past few years has began to grow out of nowhere and to this day I am still unaware as to why. Reading this article, I am not surprised that it was a group of white fraternity members who were involved in the attack of the colored male. Certain white fraternities are known for being racist and the university systems should do a better job of due diligence behind the fraternities on their campus.

Eric Reid: Why Colin Kaepernick and I Decided to Take a Knee

I believe the decision for NFL players to take a knee is all within their right. There are people who say it's a form of disrespect to the flag but that makes no sense as the flag and the people who fought for it risked their lives for our independence and freedom. This freedom includes the freedom to stand up for what's right or in this case, kneel for what's right.

There is no surprise that there is a sever lack of diversity in politics. That's just how America was built, the founders of this country who signed the declaration of independence were mostly, if not all white males. To have a country founded upon such a lack of diversity, especially if those that are colored are slaves- one can only imagine how long it would take for their to be real diversity in the politics of this country.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/10/style/romance-novels-diversity.html

Romance novel authors are approximately 7.8% non-white authors. I believe the lack of diversity may be due to the fact that white authors tend to be more prone to having a liking towards romance. But I also believe a problem that may lie here may be that white authors tend to write romance between two white people. Up until about 2 years there was finally a black Cinderella and the introduction of more diverse characters. This is an issue that was just very recently addressed but still needs more diversification among different ethnicity and races.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/16/opinion/diversity-tech-women-silicon-valley.html

This article was actually pretty interesting because in Silicon valley, especially with a lot of startups, not many of them include women. Not just this, but the lack of race, ethnicity, religion, etc. is not very present either. If you compare now to 10 years ago then yes, there is more diversity but the tech industry, in my opinion has been one of the slowest with it's adoption of diversified personnel.

Something interesting that I've recently heard the UN does is celebrate a day that is devoted towards diversity and inclusion, the topic of this entire page ironically. Essentially this day is to bring about the awareness of all the different types of cultures around the globe to different people. It is also the mission of the UN to eliminate stereotypes of different cultures by educating them. Lastly, the last goal of the UN on this day is to form a community of leaders who respect different cultures and ignite others to want to learn more about them.

https://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2014/10/31/amazon-unclear-on-diversity/

Amazon, like many other tech companies have done a horrible job of paying close attention to diversity, especially in the C-level suite executives. With the new emergence with Amazon as a global power and their founder becoming the wealthiest person in the world, I believe it's essential for them to diversify those who have a say in how the company is run. As the article stated, it is mostly run by white males which is a shame and they need to address and change this issue very soon.

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/08/us/politics/democrats-women-minorities.html

Although racism has increased since the presidency of Trump, the minorities in America has worked very hard to prove their spot is still prominent regardless of the president seat and his supporters. To prove this (or maybe just coincidence), the demographic of political leaders has diversified substantially. There has been transgender, female, Arab, and many other diverse leaders taking the form of governors, mayors, council leaders, etc. This was actually a big surprise to me as I thought that the politics would start to become primarily white because of Trump.

Sorry, Cards Against Humanity can't stop Trump's wall

Trump's decision to build a wall is one of the biggest inhibition to diversity that America has experienced in a long time. No just this but earlier in the year, his ban of certain Arab/Muslims to the country was another key factor of this inhibition. Never has America had a president who divided this country more than Trump has. This is an ongoing issue and his most devote followers tend to also share the same views as him, however, they have no restrictions on their extremism and ways in which they can portray their racism.

http://eoejournal.com/index.php/2017/11/20/diversity-inclusion-rewriting-rules-marketing/

Marketing has always been a lucrative industry and essentially it's what drives many of us to buy the products we do. Over the past couple of decades, marketing has been composed of Caucasians with big bright smiles to advertise a product. But lately, their have companies who now have to reach a quota on those they show in their marketing campaign as to represent that they are for diversity which I believe may just be a tactic as to broaden their audience.
